These tools are designed to improve your workflow in Ableton Live by letting you control or toggle multiple device or plug-in parameters across all tracks and all device or plug-in instances at once.

A few use cases:

Compare different device or plug-in settings:

Say you’re using a tape emulation plug-in on all tracks and want to compare how different IPS settings sound. Select the plug-in and its IPS parameter, set two values (e.g., 7.5 and 30), and toggle between them across your Live set with one click.

Optimize CPU usage by turning Oversampling/HQ mode on or off for all devices:

Use the toggles to turn Oversampling off for all instances of a plug-in when you don’t need it, and back on when rendering or exporting.

Bypass every plug-in or device in your Live set with just one click using the “Bypass Everything” device.
Collapse or expand all devices in the Device View across all tracks.

And there’s a lot more you can achieve with these devices.

These devices let you toggle any Device/Plugin parametes across all your tracks between two values. (In all Device/Plugin instances.)

Place the device or devices in your Ableton Live User Library.
Default User Library locations:
- Windows: \Users\[username]\Documents\Ableton\User Library
- Mac: Macintosh HD/Users/[username]/Music/Ableton/User Library
Live needs to analyze your User Library after adding devices. This process may take some time. In the meantime, you can drag and drop the devices from your User Library onto your tracks.
After Live finds them, you’ll be able to access them from Live’s Browser.
